The short terms of using bishopsfromecharities.org.

A plain-English set of terms for use of this website, written by the trustees themselves. The site is operated by THE BISHOPS FROME CONSOLIDATED CHARITIES, a small registered charity in Bishop's Frome, Herefordshire (registered number 219970).

In short

  • This is an informational site for a tiny parish charity.
  • The donation form is a demonstration; no card is charged on this site.
  • The information here is accurate to the best of our knowledge — but please write to confirm anything important.
  • You may print pages for personal use; please ask before reproducing them elsewhere.
  • English law applies; the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

Who we are

The site is operated by THE BISHOPS FROME CONSOLIDATED CHARITIES, registered charity number 219970, of New House, Bishops Frome, Worcester, WR6 5BT. Telephone +44 (0)1531 640323. Email [email protected].

What the site is for

This site exists to make the trustees' work transparent — to record what the consolidated bequests have done, to explain how to apply for the small grants they fund, and to make our reports and policies available to any parishioner who wants to see them. It is not a service-delivery website, an e-commerce site, or a fundraising portal.

Donations

The donation form on the donate page is an interactive demonstration. No card is charged on this site. After you fill the form out, the trustees will be in touch by email to confirm details for a bank transfer or cheque. We may, in time, set up a simple payment gateway with the Charities Aid Foundation; until then, please treat any "Give now" button as a request to be contacted rather than a transaction.

Real donations are processed by the trustees through the charity's bank account. Gift Aid claims (where you have given a valid declaration) are submitted to HMRC under the charity's HMRC reference. We do not retain any card details.

Accuracy of information

We do our best to keep the information on this site accurate, but it is written and edited by two trustees in their evenings. If you are making a decision based on something here — an application deadline, an opening time, a meeting date — please write to [email protected] to confirm.

Copyright and reuse

Text on this site is © THE BISHOPS FROME CONSOLIDATED CHARITIES unless otherwise stated. You may print or save pages for personal, non-commercial use. Please write to us before reproducing any page in print or on another website, and we will say yes more often than not, with a small request for attribution.

Photographs of named individuals on this site are reproduced with permission. Please do not republish them without first writing to the trustees and to the subject's nominated contact.

External links

We link, sparingly, to a small number of external websites — the Charity Commission register, the Information Commissioner's Office, the parish council, the parochial church council. We are not responsible for the content of external sites; the link itself is not an endorsement of anything beyond the immediate item being linked to.

Limitations of liability

This site is provided on a "best endeavours" basis. To the extent permitted by law, THE BISHOPS FROME CONSOLIDATED CHARITIES is not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance upon, the information on this site. Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for fraud, for personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything that cannot be excluded under English law.

Changes to these terms

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page if we change the terms materially. Please re-read this page if you are returning to the site after a long absence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by English law. Any dispute arising from your use of the site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
